Chocolate malt will give your beer a warm, nutty, chocolate-like flavor. Just a few ounces in a batch will impart a slight brown color. Use up to a pound in porters and stouts and dark lagers – such as Bock.
Chocolate Malt is used in the production of darker beers including bitters, ruby ales, mild’s, stouts and porters. It can of course be mixed with the lighter malts to recreate your favorite beer or perhaps create your own secret recipe. Chocolate malt should be used sparingly (no more than 5% of total malt content of your brew) and has a strong coffee flavour.
This malt has a colour of between 940 and 1100 EBC’s and is supplied ready crushed in 500gm packs.
